I was originally going to post a different blog which I decided to table for now.
Instead, I thought it would be more appropriate to change the theme given this strange journey that we've all been on since January 6th.
Many of you may already be familiar with Joseph Campbell through the PBS series "Joseph Campbell and "The Power of Myth", hosted by Bill Moyers. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it to you. More...
The following is a quote from "The Power of Myth" that I wanted to share with you...
We have not to even risk the adventure alone,
for the heroes of all time have gone before us.
The labyrinth is thoroughly known.
We have only to follow the thread of the hero path.
And where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god.
And where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves.
Where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence.
And where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world.
There are many true unsung heroes who perform wonderful acts of kindness. Individuals who perform unselfish sacrifices for the common good. We seldom hear about them because they don't seek the limelight. We probably all know of someone that we consider a true hero. Take time to thank them if you can.
