/Beginning 2022

How naive I was to think that 2022 might usher in a new awakening; a recognition that we could achieve a higher consciousness--peace, deliverance from our wicked ways--silly me! Now, five months into it, and whadda we got? Well looks like 2021 with nuclear threats added to the soup.

Because humanity finds itself in such a predicament, I wrestle with the claim that we were fashioned in the image of the Creator described in Genesis 1:26-27: “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness...’ So God created mankind in his own image; he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female” -Genesis 1:26-27 (photo: BBC)

Hmmmm. If so, there's much about this image that needs improving. Maybe we're just a cardboard cutout likeness minus all the good stuff--just one of many Creator-experiments that s/he/they/it is/are carrying out across multiple galaxies and we just happen to be a blue marble petrie dish experiment that isn't doing too well. Hope? Anyone?

/Good News 2022

There really is lots of good news if we just take the time to think about the incredible good fortune that is ours. If you need an occasional reminder, there are several websites featuring good news and stories about people and organizations doing great things, here's one.

Humpback Whales: The Endangered Species Coalition has reported: "Humpback whales were decimated by commercial whaling in the 19th and early 20th century. They were one of the first species protected under Endangered Species Conservation Act, the predecessor of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) in 1970... Thanks to global conservation efforts including the Endangered Species Act, the current population has rebounded to nearly 80,000 Humpback whales up from a low-point of 10,000 to 15,000."
